On July 4, 2014, Mary Thompson (daughter of Brandon & Elizabeth Emerson) posted this memorial on Facebook:

“At 12:30 a.m. on this Independence Day, Mama received her independence from her physical body and joined Daddy among the redeemed surrounding the throne. After years of arthritic pain and immobility, she can now freely and easily bow before her King, run, jump and dance with her Bridegroom.”
